Brevitas — Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 July 2026
Brevitas is designed to keep your data on your device. We do not operate servers that collect your personal information, and we do not use analytics or advertising SDKs. There are no accounts and no logins.
What stays on your device
- Your life data — your birth date, expected lifespan, and the horizons (dates) you add — is stored locally. If you use an Apple Watch, it syncs privately between your own devices via Apple's iCloud / WatchConnectivity. It is never sent to us.
- Background photos you choose are stored locally on your device only.
Apple Health (HealthKit)
If you choose to connect Apple Health, Brevitas requests read-only access to a small set of measurements used to personalise your life-expectancy estimate:
- Cardio fitness (VO₂max)
- Resting heart rate
- Body mass (weight)
- Height
How this data is handled:
- Read-only. Brevitas never writes to Apple Health.
- On-device. These values are read and used to compute your estimate locally. They are not transmitted to us or any third party.
- Never used for advertising or shared with third parties, and never sold.
- Optional and revocable. You can decline, and you can withdraw access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health. Brevitas falls back to a short questionnaire if Health data is unavailable.
The life-expectancy estimate is an illustrative model based on public actuarial data and published epidemiology. It is not medical advice and not a clinical prediction.
Children
Brevitas is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.
